Finally quilting the third graduation quilt. Just a simple meander. I like to add a few flowers and their name when I am doing this.
Today we dropped number one son off at a national youth leadership camp for BSA. Beautiful campground and great opportunity for him.
My motto when being the passenger is have hexies will travel. Well, today I got some bonus sewing time. We decided to take the scenic way home vs the interstate. Our vehicle overheated and we waited nearly an hour for a tow.
Thank goodness it was a beautiful day!
Today was the spreading of the mulch. I am trying to get all this finished and looking well for when we have family and friends over to celebrate for my new HS graduate.
My husband has a brother with eight grandchildren. When the oldest graduated from high school I made her a quilt. When she was eight years old her mother died three weeks after giving birth to her younger sister and she has always held a special place in all our hearts.
That started it all and his brother has had a grandchild graduate each year since then. This year is grandchild number 4 so after completing this I only have 4 more to go. And a year break before the next graduate. Whew.
This is the third graduation quilt this year and I haven't even made one for my daughter. I will have to take care of that asap!
The one pictured here is another Bonnie Hunter quilt. A top I made last summer at a class I took with her. I don't remember the name other than having something to do with stars.
Here it is as I have begun to baste in preparation to quilt.
Living in a home that is 50 years old always requires upkeep and work. (Kinda like me!). The current project at hand is the porch on the back of our house. It's approximately 25x60, nearly the entire length of of our house.
Last summer we removed all the old screens and replaced with fence planks. This is more dog friendly.
This spring we pulled up all the gross indoor outdoor carpet and finally today are just about finished painting the cement floor. Finished enough to have friends over for wine and convo.
