Hexie lovin

Have to square up a few sides and decide how to quilt...by hand.

Back at it

I put this project down for a bit while gatherings more random 2.5 inch squares.  I also revised the center with a sunflower like look.  I have almost reached my goal size....although now I am having new thoughts about how yo finish.

And if course. ...how do I quilt this?

Bonus time

Today we dropped number one son off at a national youth leadership camp for BSA.  Beautiful campground and great opportunity for him.

My motto when being the passenger is have hexies will travel.   Well, today I got some bonus sewing time.  We decided to take the scenic way home vs the interstate.   Our vehicle overheated and we waited nearly an hour for a tow.

Thank goodness it was a beautiful day!

Progress week 5

I now have 13 hexies per side and feel like it's finally getting larger.  A set back for some repairs to be done, thanks to Irma,  and I'm off and running again.  Lovin' the hexies!

Progress week three

This week hasn't been as much about progressing in size but making lots of hexies.

Note the plastic bowl I use for scraps.   Gotta love living with dogs. Sometimes.

Progress

Does it look bigger yet?  Nearly 11 hexies on each side.  About 8 more rows to go.  I try to pick it up every day, and I do manage to do this most days.   I have so many other things I should be doing....but hope to finish this in a few weeks.

Progress week two

I now have nine hexies to a side.  I have figured I need 16 or 18 on each side to reach the finished size.  When I was excited to be half way, my husband reminded me that considering the total number needed I am actually only about 1/3 of the way to being finished.  Drat.

Progress week one

This is one week's progress.  Seven hexies on each side.  This is going to take longer than I hoped.

Quiet night

Enjoying a rare quiet night with my hexies, glass of Adams County Wine and a documentary about Tim Tebow.

Lots of hexies

My plan is to make this hexie circle large enough to cover the table it is shown on. I plan to not have any duplicates.   I have given myself a deadline of June 1.  I'll be back with progress....I promise.
