I have finished the binding on the second of three graduation quilts. Yeah me! Ahead of schedule. On to quilt and bind the third....don't know when this will happen as the weather is getting nicer and my calendar is very busy. Life happens.

Snow day sewing
Quite a storm snuck up on us and I have an unplanned day of sewing available to me....what to do?
A. I could continue to pull out the stitching on twist of lime.
B. I could work on my postage stamp quilt.
C. I could start something new.
D. I could do a little of all three.
Ding, ding, ding.....I'm going for D. I see 4-8 inches of snow in the forcast, so I think I have all day!

Taking it all out!
I am not at all happy with the stitching on the back of this quilt. The tension on my machine goes berserk when I meander. So here goes the quilters blues as I pick out the stitches on a double size quilt. Only good news is it was a great day to sit in front of the tv and catch some good football as I create a pile of threads.

Great day for progress
Saturday I took a class with Mary Huey http://www.maryhueyquilts.com/index.html. She was teaching her quilt pattern called Mississippi Mud.
Well...my daughter will be graduating from High School in the spring. That creates a mild panic for a quilter who has established the pattern of gifting quilts for this occasion. She has two very close friends who I would like to give a quilt. One of which is to the stage that it is sandwiched and waiting for final stitching and binding. The other of her friends now has her quilt in progress thanks to Mary's class. I love the colors and will be having a hard time passing this over. But I know it will be loved.

I think I'll call it "with a twist of lime". More pics will come as I progress. Since I have a hard deadline for this one it won't be a UFO for long.
Another cool thing....Mary contacted me after the class ended and asked if she could use pics of my blocks to put on her blog......WOWZA.
