Make at home Choc Bars

http://minimalistbaker.com/diy-dark-chocolate-almond-bars/

Holidays have snuck up again!  Never enough time to get everything done!  I would love to try to make these chocolate bars at home.  Maybe I can convince my daughter to try this when she is home for a few weeks!

Summer cleaning

I would spring clean if I had time....but usually happens in the summer when the kids go to camp.  My chance to get under the beds and in closets.  This is what emerged from under my son's bed as I got to work on his room.  He's a teenager and for the most part this is his space and responsibility....but a mom's gotta do what a mom's gotta do.

Blech!

Morning coffee

My summer weekend mornings begin with this beautiful view. The sun shinning on the bird feeders, listening to the chirping and relaxing as I ramble through the latest chapter of my current read.

I have a daunting list of things to accomplish today and want to enjoy these moments of quiet before it all begins.

Watching the seasons change

As I virtually walk the Appalachian Trail, I am watching mother nature change seasons.  Today is much too rainy to walk so I am posting pictures from the last few days....
The High School Baseball team plays at this park too.  The field is coming together for practice and soon games...I believe they might start next week.

Wheels are rollin

Wasting no time on moving along with this....of course I won't mention how long it sat in an "unbordered" state.

Last night I sandwiched and am ready to quilt....well actually I was about 6 inches short on batting and backing on one side, so some evening this week I will will have to attach the additional.  I am using all the same backing fabric (a fat back) so the seam should blend in after the quilting is finished and non will be the wiser!

Big wheels keep on turning

I am tossing around names for this one.  I see wheels from a distance.  I think I'll sit on that one and see if I still like it as I work toward the finish.

Spring weather on Feb 28

Loving 60 degree weather on Feb 28.  Dogs and son helping me in the yard.  Ready for a nap....spring seasonal alergy headache.  Doesn't keep me from working outside but it does kick my butt sometimes.

Another UFO in the works

Do we ever start and finish a a project before beginning the next....impatient, anxious, crazy....don't know which.

I have begun to work on an Irish Chain using the fabrics remaining from my weaver fever.....I'm going to love this. Although I'm not sure it will be very big if I stick to only these fabrics.  I have added a pic of the Irish chain I finished a few years ago. I gave to a dear friend that was recovering from a long road of several surgeries and procedures.

I am going to love this....just wish I had more fabric from this line. I bought this 10+ years ago.

Local shop

I have never really been interested in making a t-shirt quilt.  But my sister had asked me sometime ago if I would make one for Aubrey.  My local shop has offered a class, so I took the plunge.  And glad that I did.  This would have been difficult to figure out on my own.  Pics to follow.  Isn't this a cute shop?..looks like a ski chalet.

Fonthill Castle

We all took a day off.  Having cabin fever, I was anxious for a change of scenery.  Fonthill Castle was built by hand, with primary building materials being cement and tiles. Mr Mercer lived there many years by himself with staff helping to maintain house and grounds.  Beautiful.  A nice day for a two hour drive North East to Doylestown to see local history.  I love how the paw print is preserved in the cement stair.

Quiet end to beautiful day

Nearly 60 degrees today.  Dogs and I played outside.  Now they nap and I am binding my recent finish...thinking I'll call it tumbleweed.  Fresh air is good for just about everything but my allergies.

#diamondstakeforever

OMG.....the top is finished!  Five years in the making.  I am over the top excited!!! And pleased with the overall look.  2889 one inch hexies measures at 90x84.

Here are some pics of approaching the final...and the final reveal!!  I am calling it Diamonds Take Forever

Starting 2016

I am fighting with my new LG phone and Blogger.  Posts fail to post. Grrrr. This is the easiest method for me as the majority of my pics are on my phone.  Why do smart phones make you feel so dumb!

I am hoping that 2016 proves to be better than 2015.  Both my work life and personal life were a total mess and a great deal of stress.  I can deal with a little of each of these, but I was totally on overload!

Everyone is posting pictures of the January 2016 snowstorm in our area....so I want to join in!  Our lab loves running around in the snow.  I think he was looking for his tennis ball...we lost several of these during the storm.  They will surface soon.
Snow was deeper that the shoot on my snowblower....30+ inches in less than 24 hours.  A doozy.
My job required that I be here for part of the storm.  A pic looking out over campus. Me and the crew with shovels that day.  Beautiful from the inside looking out. Exhausting if you were out looking in!
