Making Progress

I'm finally making progress on a quilt that is a graduation gift for a nephew that graduated in June.  After problems with my machine and major lack of time issues, I am back at it.  House of Cards playing while I drive my machine.  Gotta love political dramas.

Time for me

Here we are, nearly the end of July and I don't feel like there has been any summer. I had a family member that has been very ill since mid May. This has taken a great deal of my time, driving to/from 60 miles each way. I would do it again but it cuts into time at home to get things done. When I get home, I just want to veg, laundry and grocery shopping are just not exciting. But....several weeks ago I signed up for a class with Bonnie Hunter! So...I took a day for me and ventured to Bedford PA to visit with Bonnie. I have already made the quilt she was teaching but I was looking forward to a good day. The venue left a great deal to be desired and the lighting was crappy. None of this was the fault of Bonnie or Mary of Mary's Quilt Shop in Bedford PA. Just a crappy place. Check out some of the pics from my day of starting Star Gazing. This pattern may be found in one of Bonnie's books.

One of those Days

I'm having one of those days....construction outside my window at work. UGG.... My mind has a million and one things spinning and then I get the call that my son is sick. He spent the night at a friend's house. The friend's grandmother is a nurse, this is the house where they stayed. When I get a call from a nurse that my son is sick....he must really be sick. So I start up the taxi and off I go. 103 degree temp is making him feel really crappy. When it rains it pours....looking for a bucket to catch the rain...or a dance to make it stop. Any ideas?

Setting a goal...OMG

I have set a personal goal to run the Hershey Half Marathon in October 2013. It is 14 weeks away...this should help my other goal of having my cloths fit more comfortably!

Rain is Good

I have planted gourds and have them growing on a swing set frame   They are growing like wild this year.  I also planted climbing cucumbers and brought the first two in last eve.  So excited to have a mountain of Zucchini soon too.  Problems is that grass and weed grow as fast or sometimes faster! keeping up with all the outside work this time of year can prove to be a challenge.

They're back!

My guys have returned from a week at BSA camp.  It rained the majority of the week.  This results in many loads of nasty, smelly, laundry.  So I was one with my washer and dryer for a good part of the day.
